-THE DISCOVERY-
One step in front of the other…
Mile upon mile he walked
There was no destination,
So that when he stopped
He found himself
Looking out across a vast empty sea
The waves moved in and out of his thoughts
He began to sway in unison with the waves,
Each thought crashed upon another
Until all thinking ceased
He was now
Only a mist of ocean foam
All wounds have been cauterized
And the scars of experience
became the soft sand
of loving self-acceptance beneath his feet
He opened his eyes
Crusted scales dissolved
As tears cleansed his desolate heart
His pain became a gift
And now, instead of having no path
Or destination
All of his struggles revealed
A rich, lush and illustrious life
Laid out before him
Like a banquet
Beckoning him to enter
The garden of his heart
Where forgiveness lay about him
Like flowers in bloom…
The scent of which
carried him into his luminescence
Where love became his destination
over and over again
As each moment brought
A wealth of new wonders to discover.
