I SPEAK

-I SPEAK-
I speak now of things unsaid,
Of battles lost and lessons won

I speak now for what is most tender
Held for fear of breaking

I speak now for the voiceless
Whose emotions can’t be heard
Whose tears fall upon arid soil

I speak now for love unexpressed
Caught in the fear of shame
And the weeds of guilt

I speak now for the four legged
Our silent witness and companion
Our teachers and delight

I speak now for the children
For those innocent eyes looking
For the trust they give to our guidance

I speak now for the elderly
For those who have seen a trail of tears
And offer us life’s lessons
With child-like laughter

I speak now to the parents
Whose love must transcend public opinion
For the sake of innocence and truth

I speak now for the homeless
Please forgive us for our neglect
and indifference
For turning our gaze away
Avoiding the fear of knowing
We were looking into our own eyes

I speak now for the Earth
And her abundant grace
And to remember that we are the earth
What we do to her we do to ourselves.

I speak now, for the Hope we can bring

For the Love we can share

For the Help we can give

For the Truth we can speak

For the Freedom we can nurture and cherish

For the selfless gift of life

And for every deep breath

Invigorating this body to move

Encouraged as we are, by Great Spirit,

To walk the Beauty Way.

May it be so.
And so it is, for the highest good.
